What's New 201120102009200820072006200520042003200220012000 October 2010 The Policy Institute for Family Impact Seminars Welcomes a New Associate Director The Board of Directors of the Policy Institute for Family Impact Seminars recently appointed Kristen Shook Slack the Institute’s new Associate Director. "Kristi is perfect for the position," according to Director Karen Bogenschneider, "because of her passion for building evidence-based policy to support and strengthen families in all their diversity across the lifespan." Professor Slack is a Professor and the Associate Director of the School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has published her research in highly regarded scientific journals including Child Maltreatment and the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. She recently guest edited a special issue of Children and Youth Services Review on family economic well-being following passage of the 1996 welfare reform law. Professor Slack has also authored or co-authored 19 reports and publications designed to inform policy and practice. She has been PI or Co-PI of over $1.6 million of support for her research and outreach programs. Professor Slack is already involved in the activities of the Institute and will officially assume her responsibilities this summer. January 2010 2010 Seminars |
